Always Grateful

I've pondered over starting a blog for a long time. Not really for anyone else, but for myself. During the busy-ness of each day, sometimes it is hard to remember the beauty in the little things. The blessings that we are given every single day. It is so quick and easy for the evil in the World to creep in and overshadow the good.

Today, as it is 95 degrees outside. I'm hooking up fans in the chicken coops. I'm making sure they have fresh, cool water as they roam the yard in a constant pant. Frozen blueberries on the menu today. I, myself, am hot. The kids are on my nerves. We are out of cat litter.

But this afternoon, I am choosing to slow down and see the good. The kids who were on my nerves have helped me with the chores. They are now playing independently with their cousins, who are hanging out with us for the day. Nobody is fighting. We have the land and resources to raise these animals and gardens that keep us busy. We have air conditioning where we are able to escape from the heat, and popsicles in the freezer. These are the things I am choosing to focus on as the day wears on. What a beautiful, scorching hot life ;) Always grateful.
